The luxury SUV was unveiled to Tatler VIPs at a magnificent four-hands dinner this September

Legendary German carmaker BMW has long been synonymous with engineering excellence—so it was only fitting that the company chose to celebrate the launch of its new X7 seven-seater model in Hong Kong by partnering with some fellow first-class German experts.

Over two nights in September, BMW joined forces with Tatler to host an extraordinary four-hands dining experience in the captivating setting of its luxury Wan Chai showroom. Guests in attendance included Frederic Bottlang, managing director of BMW Hong Kong, and Ray Leung, managing director of BMW Concessionaires, alongside Tatler VIPs, friends and car lovers Joseph Fung, Denise Ho, Alex Jiaravanont and Angie Ting.

Cooking up a storm in the kitchen were renowned German chefs Uwe Opocensky, executive chef of Island Shangri-La Hong Kong, where he heads up the Michelin-starred restaurant Petrus; and Peter Find, who was part of Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong’s founding team when it opened in 2010, and who has recently launched his debut restaurant Heimat, inspired by his native cuisine.

Following a champagne reception featuring an array of canapés crafted by the two chefs, their exquisite four-course dinner—including creative takes on classic German cuisine—was accompanied by a carefully curated wine pairing showcasing the finest German wines. Authentic German beers were also on hand for guests to try while they interacted with the chefs and listened to them speak about their culinary inspirations and expertise.

Meanwhile, exhilarating entertainment was provided by violin virtuoso and in-demand DJ Olivia Dawn Mok, who dazzled guests with two breathtaking performances.

The incredible event offered guests the opportunity to discover the new BMW X7 up-close and in-person, and learn more about the turbocharged SUV’s innovative and intuitive features, including its automated driving and parking, intelligent connectivity services and sleek design details—all the elements that make it the epitome of BMW’s “sheer driving pleasure” philosophy.

The two evenings represented an unforgettable dedication to fostering personal connections and creative collaborations—a true celebration of German excellence in the worlds of dining, beverages and awe-inspiring automotives. Prost to that!
