Pairing music with champagne, the Krug Studio pop-up elevated the tasting experience

Igniting all the senses and offering something unique this November, The House of Krug presented Krug Studio, an immersive pop-up at Elements mall. Rather than simply tasting the new Krug Grande Cuvée 171ème Édition and Krug Rosé 27ème Édition, champagne lovers immersed themselves in a multisensory journey that paired music with champagne and rosé, elevating the experience beyond the ordinary. It unveils the world of Krug through the creativity of the Krug Lover artists—a collective of five musical talents.

The Krug Lover collective includes violinist Emiri Miyamoto, singer and multi-instrumentalist Kazu Makino, drummer Moses Boyd, harpist Mary Lattimore, and composer and electronic musician Rone. They came together to create two original soundscapes, the Krug Echoes, Joseph’s Theme: Dream Variation inspired by the Krug Grande Cuvée 171ème Édition and Joseph's Theme: Freedom Variation inspired by the Krug Rosé 27ème Édition. This collaboration embodied the sense of community and connection that is essential to The House of Krug, which prides itself on both the art of champagne and the human processes involved in producing its famous bottles.

Staying true to the philosophy of Joseph Krug, who founded the house in 1843, the two original pieces of music are as carefully balanced and composed as the champagnes that inspired them. Joseph’s Theme: Dream Variation pairs perfectly with Krug Grande Cuvée 171ème Édition, reflecting the generosity and layers of the harmonious blend of 131 wines from 12 different years. Joseph’s Theme: Freedom Variation complements the finesse of Krug Rosé 27ème Édition, which was created by cellar master Julie Cavil with a blend of 38 wines from nine different years.

Music is a language that everyone can speak, and this sensory addition to the Krug experience allowed for a deeper understanding and appreciation of the craftsmanship and complexity that goes into this highly sought-after champagne. The fusion of creativity and flavour left a lasting impression on those who looked beyond the bubbles, just in time for the festive season.
