The Swiss skincare brand invites Hongkongers to step inside the Cobalt Café for a caviar-inspired experience

Swiss luxury skincare leader La Prairie is creating an ode to its artistic roots, iconic ingredient, signature shade and reimagined product through an immersive experience in Hong Kong.

The Cobalt Café Pop-Up is a celebration of the luxury beauty label’s deep appreciation of the arts, which is honoured through a collaboration with Sabine Marcelis, the renowned Dutch-Kiwi designer known for her contemporary material innovation in product and installation design. For this special project, Marcelis worked with La Prairie to create a profound sensory journey that includes spa-like furniture designs, a visceral La Prairie x Sabine Marcelis skincare ritual, and a supporting La Prairie x Sabine Marcelis film. It’s a perfectly fitting partnership, with striking similarities between Sabine Marcelis and La Prairie, who both create products that are sensory, explorative and transformative.

Marcelis isn’t the only creative lending her talents to the pop-up, with the culinary expertise of two-time Tatler Dining Pastry Chef of the Year Joanna Yuen deployed to create gastronomic creations inspired by one of La Prairie’s most iconic ingredients, caviar. Merging western and Asian influences, she allows visitors to indulge in exclusive caviar-inspired pastries, alongside speciality “Cobalt-cino” coffee, which calls upon La Prairie’s bold signature blue as its muse.

It wouldn’t be a La Prairie affair without a buzzworthy or beloved product—and this pop-up offers both, through the relaunch of an emblematic beauty hero, a reimagined Skin Caviar Luxe Cream. Building upon the Skin Caviar Luxe Cream’s legacy, the new iteration offers improved caviar lifting efficacy through an enhanced formula that, for the first time, masterfully fuses Caviar Premier with caviar micro-nutrients. The result helps to improve the structure of the skin, offering a renewed level of vitality. Adding to the sensory experience of the pop-up, visitors can also indulge in a luxurious hand massage infused with caviar essence, and leave with a complimentary caviar skincare trial set.

The pop-up, hosted at La Prairie’s inspiring brand residence at H Queen’s, and running until October 29, has already welcomed an abundance of beauty aficionados and special guests, including Amanda S, Nicola Cheung, Alison Chan El Azar, Emily Lam-Ho, Feiping Chang and Ayla Sham.
