On September 17, 200 guests attended the fundraising event of the local charity, which has been supporting children without families and pregnant teenagers in Hong Kong for more than 30 years
Mother’s Choice was founded in 1987 when a small group of Hongkongers decided to extend a helping hand to the city’s single young mothers and children born without families. While the organisation has swiftly expanded over the years, its aim remains the same: to support vulnerable girls and babies in Hong Kong, ensuring that every child has a permanent, loving home rather than being shuffled through the residential care system.
On September 17, 200 supporters of the charity attended Mother’s Choice’s Family Fun Fair at The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel to raise funds for the charity’s childcare home on Bowen Road, a centuries-old government-listed building in need of repair.

The afternoon was abuzz with live music performances by award-winning actress and early learning educator, Crisel Consunji, and Roy Rolloda, performer and creative director of Creative Collab, a platform dedicated to mentoring children in the performing arts. A performance by Rolloda’s students and a fashion show by Retykle, a children’s resale platform founded by Tatler Gen.T honouree Sarah Garner, also brought the event to life. With thrilling carnival activities and engaging performances, children’s laughter echoed throughout the venue as they indulged in lively entertainment provided by talented performers.
Mother’s Choice CEO Alia Eyres, patron Purviz Shroff and vice-patron Rosanna Wong came together to enjoy a day filled with laughter, joy and a shared commitment to continue making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable mothers and children.
"We are so grateful to all the wonderful families who came out in full force to support us. Their presence made this day truly exceptional, and all the children involved were overjoyed to be a part of this special experience. From taking on the role of emcees to showcasing their talents in musical performances and fashion shows, the children's enthusiasm and participation brought an infectious energy to the fair," said Eyres.
