’Tis the season to be merry. And Hong Kong is counting down to the most joyful time of the year with a plethora of Christmas markets and festive pop-ups. But beyond these holiday-themed happenings, there’s a lot of exciting events taking place too—from Clockenflap music festival that’ll see a weekend of vibrant performances at Central Harbourfront to a meet-and-greet session by Korean sensation and King the Land star Lee Jun-ho. So get ready to immerse yourself in a fun-filled December with our line-up of holly, jolly events.

1. Clockenflap

When: December 1-3

Where: Central Harbourfront

What: For the second time in 2023, Clockenflap is back in Hong Kong. The festival will see exciting international acts by American singer Caroline Polacheck, hip-hop legends De La Soul and others, alongside performances by local talents such as DJ Xiaolin, hip-hop collective Yack Studio and more. Music lovers can also enjoy bites from the stalls of Bengal Brothers, Francis and other restaurants, as well as browse through a crafts market and art installations.

2. Consciousness Festival

When: November 2023-January 2024

Where: Eaton Hong Kong, 380 Nathan Road, Jordan

What: For its Consciousness Festival, Eaton Hong Kong is bringing together diverse narratives from artists, performers, therapists, writers and scientists to delve into the complexities of consciousness. The festival will cover a broad range of topics, including mind-body well-being, neurodiversity, altered brain states and mortality.

3. Pink Dot HK 2023

When: December 10

Where: West Kowloon Cultural District Art Park

What: For the ninth consecutive year, the LGBTQ+ focused NGO, Pink Dot, presents Hong Kong’s largest LGBTQ+ carnival. Singers Andy Leung and Jace are the ambassadors of this year’s event, whose theme is “Love Out Loud”. They will perform alongside local talents such as Lezlie Chan, The Hertz, Zelos Wong. The festival also features 70 diverse booths, orientation seminars, spiritual and religious sharing sessions, a children’s playground, a sports zone and a pet area.

4. White Winter Wonderland

When: December 1-January 3

Where: The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, 1 Austin Road West, Kowloon

What: The Ritz Carlton Hong Kong has collaborated with German luxury accessories company Montblanc to present a beautiful Christmas celebration. It includes a pop-up store, where you’ll get all kind of Christmas goodies, from desserts to gift boxes. The hotel is also offering the Montblanc Wishing Tree Afternoon Tea designed by Chef Jacky Lo during this period, featuring delectable morsels using German ingredients.

5. Circle Back by Bad Times Disco

When: December 17-21

Where: Heath Hong Kong, B/F, 36-44 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

What: Bad Times Disco is set to host its Circle Back event this December at Heath Hong Kong. This year’s format features a clothing swap (no fast fashion!) spanning across five days. Additionally, a sustainable holiday market will take place on December 17, complemented by a series of dance classes and sessions from December 18 to 21.

6. Hero Design Group’s Christmas market

When: December 8-9

Where: 19-20 Connaught Road, Central

What: Shopping for gifts is such an integral part of the festive season, and to help you do that there are several Christmas markets taking place all over the city. This one, by Hero Design Group, celebrates artistry and craftsmanship through a showcase of local brands such as One Of A Kind, as well as international vendors.

7. ‘Kongkee: Warring States Cyberpunk’ exhibition

When: December 9, 2023 - March 3, 2024

Where: Tai Kwun’s Duplex Studio, 10 Hollywood Road, Central

What: Hong Kong artist Kongkee commemorates the legend of Chinese poet Qu Yuan (339-278 BCE) through a psychedelic and cyberpunk lens at Tai Kwun. Part comic book, part motion picture, part speculative journey, the exhibition is an immersive experience complete with a large-scale LED installation and site-specific neon works.

8. Lee Jun-ho’s ‘Junho The Moment’ fan-meeting tour

When: December 2

Where: AsiaWorld-Expo, 1 Airport Expo Blvd, Chek Lap Kok

What: South Korean singer and actor Lee Jun-ho is coming to Hong Kong this month for a fan meet-and-greet session. This one is for all those supporters who have followed his journey from his debut in K-pop group 2PM to his commanding performances in K-dramas such as Confession (2019), The Red Sleeve (2022) or King the Land (2023).
